What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" -- it's a format for distributing and gathering content from sources across the Web, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs.

  5. Our feeds are high quality content from over 200 top notch news media sources!
Can you explain what you mean by "Available RSS Channels?"
We offer a wide variety of news categories for our viewers. The particular channel refers to that news category, so if you were to subscribe to the U.S News RSS channel; you would then receive all news that fall within the U.S news category.
I see "Video Only" and "Text Articles Only" can you explain this to me?
We've recently divided our video feeds and text article into separate categories because we found that not everyone wants to watch video or that many enjoy also reading a good article. The column where you see "Video Only" represents the RSS feeds that are dedicated to all videos within a particular category. For example: U.S News located in the Video Only column means you will only receive videos on a daily basis that fall within the U.S category. The same goes for Text Articles Only; you will only receive text articles that fall within the U.S category. We figured that separating the channels will please lots of our users.
Are your RSS feeds free?
Yes, every RSS feed is absolutely free.
How can I use RSS?
Typical applications for consuming or using RSS include:
  • Using a program known as a News Aggregator to collect, update and display RSS feeds
  • Incorporating RSS feeds into weblogs
  • Newer versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox has a built in RSS subscriber feature that will allow you to retrieve RSS feeds quickly and easily
News Aggregators (also called news readers) will download and display RSS feeds for you. A number of free and commercial News Aggregators are available for download. Popular news readers include AmphetaDesk, NetNewsWire, and Radio Userland. Please note that if you use a news aggregator that you must view our articles from within an actual browser and not from within the news aggregator itself. News aggregators does not support the javascript code used for the news player used for our videos and articles.

Another way many people use RSS feeds is by incorporating content into weblogs, or "blogs". Blogs are web pages comprised of usually short, frequently updated items and web links. Blogging as a publishing tool is used for many purposes: traditional journalism, personal journals, group discussions around a topic, and many combinations in-between.
When I try to view an article within my stand-alone news aggregator, I get an error message saying "TheNewsRoom player could not detect the orgin of the page and cannot play the news story?
Our news are displayed through a viewer using flash technology and javascript. Because of this, our news must be displayed from within an actual browser that has javascript enabled. If you are using a stand-alone aggregator, you will be able to retrieve the headlines, however you must view the actual article from within a real browser. News aggregators does not support the javascript code used for the news player used for our videos and articles.
Can I use your RSS headlines on my website?
Yes, you are free to use our RSS headlines on your site.
How do I place your RSS headlines on my website?
To place our RSS headlines on your website, simply click any of the links of your choosing above, and copy and paste the RSS feed url into the page of your website. You will need an RSS parser script to turn the feed into html. There are many free ones floating around the net.
